ACWSTORAMA PRESENT MEIC STEVENS AT CLWB IFOR BACH, DECEMBER 10TH

Dubbed “the Welsh Bob Dylan”, Pembrokeshire native Meic Stevens is perhaps the defining figure in Welsh-language music, a ‘60s survivor who went on to inspire a new wave of Welsh musicians from Super Furry Animals to Catatonia. Stevens produced the first ever record to be released on seminal Welsh-language label Sain, Huw Jones’ Dwr, and recorded a string of releases for the label over the years, including ‘Y Brawd Houdini’, which Gruff Rhys selected as his favourite track of all time. Recent years have seen Stevens’ star again in the ascendent, with a 60th birthday retrospective, ‘Disgwyl Rhywbeth Gwell I Ddod’, winning plaudits in and beyond the Welsh-language scene.

Tonight’s show will see Stevens perform two 45-minute sets, backed by a full band. Doors open at 7.30pm, with tickets retailing for £5.
